Yaraandoo Respite Retreats are held regularly at Yaraandoo Eco Lodge. The award winning environmental Lodge is located amongst the World Heritage listed New England National Park and Cathedral Rock National Park and neighbours the Serpentine Nature Reserve and Dutton Trout Hatchery.
Yaraandoo is situated on Point Lookout Rd, off the Waterfall Way midway between Armidale and Dorrigo in Northern NSW.
The Retreats are primarily funded by the Federal Government (the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs) and Yaraandoo.
The Respite Retreats are offered for Carers of people with mental illness.
Yaraandoo Respite Retreats offer 4 days and 3 nights with superb facilities, accommodation, all meals, pampering activities and educational sessions in a peaceful, relaxing environment. Surrounded by pristine bushland and breath taking mountain scenery there are 8kms of graded walking tracks on site and crystal clear, cascading streams. The perfect place to relax and rejuvenate, rekindle relationships and be spoiled and pampered.
This service provides respite care for Carers and the opportunity to meet others experiencing similar challenges, acquire educational coping tools and gain knowledge on available services.
Participants come from the Mid North Coast and New England North West. Participants do not have to pay anything towards the retreat if they meet the eligibility criteria.
Our Assessment team will interview the Carers to assess their eligibility to come to the retreats.
There are a variety of activities for participants including:

- Inspirational guest speakers share their personal experiences on the road to recovery
Educational workshops are tailored to specific groups and one-on-one care plans include:

- daily living skills/life skills
- diet & nutrition
- self-esteem & finding your passion
